Daniel Stahlhut is a native Texan who grew up in Houston and continues to call the city his home. His artistic talent was evident as a child when he enrolled in classes with private instructors and at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's Glassell School of Art. He attended Texas A&M at Commerce on an art scholarship and graduated with a degree in graphic design.
As a youth he was captivated with the post impressionist paintings he viewed at the Louvre and Orsay Museums in Paris and at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. That fascination is reflected in his painstaking pointillists syle, which relies on layer upon layer of brush strokes to create bright splashes of pure color. Those bold splashes mix in the eye rather than on the canvas, giving each piece a brilliant intensity.
